Book Review

The novel “the Tortilla Curtain” was written by the U.S. author T.C. Boyle and published 1995. The story is about illegalimmigration, poverty of the illegal immigrations and the fear, detestation and prejudices of foreigners. The main characters in the novel are the twocouples America Rincón and Cándido Rincón, who came illegal from Mexico trying to realize the American dream, but in their journey many negativeevents happen to them. The other couple Delaney Mossbacher and Kyra Mossbacher, Delaney is a nature lover, so much so that he writes a column in alocal newspaper and Kyra is an estate agent, she likes the nature, too and she also takes care of her health. The history plays in Arroyo BlancoEstates in Los Angeles, California, where many the residents are in favor to build a wall against the coyotes and the illegal immigrants.
As I didn’tread all the book I only can give an approximately opinion. My favorite character in this novel is Delaney, because in my opinion I find histhoughts, the way he changes a few times in the story his position about the immigrants and how he cares about the persons very interesting.  Howeverthe book is written in a boring way and the author gives to many details and there are also too much characters in this book. As reader I expecteda happy ending for America and Cándido or at least a moral for the reader.
In conclusion I think there better books we can read in class .
