The addiction to the internet has become a trouble for our society. Our generation has become dependent to this artifacts not only in our homes but it also in our daily lives. This is called“internet addiction disorder” and can be acquire by anyone because this is like a virus that can attack everybody that has a computer. Many people think that is a mental situation but the main causes aresimilar and the purpose is the same to other addiction as well, depression, feelings of isolation and the classic of all, the stress. The purpose become the same, the pleasure and the addiction became theproblem with a hard solution.
When people reach the point of stress, many things come to their mind. People start to spend time in computers substituting the conversations of normal people to a cyberconversation. (Robert Kraut,1998) “people are substituting weaker social ties for stronger ones. They’re substituting conversations on narrower topics with strangers for conversations with people whoare connected to their life.” This people start to avoid their own family and that’s the main big problem in the case of stress. They don’t know how to difference between real conversations and cyberconversations and leave their relieves with the cyber chats.
The isolation is the separation of a person ho is lack of friends and have his own world. Likely to the schizophrenic this people arealways alone thinking in that person that they said they know, but the difference is that schizophrenic imagine or create a number of things and the isolation is being alone talking with someone thatthey don’t know in person but feel that they know all about his or her cyber friend. According to Norman Nie, a self-proclaimed Internet addict, the web is but the latest in a long list of technologicaldevelopments that have improved quality of life but restricted social interactions.
