There is no single model of family. Its composition and the role that presents each of its members are different in each society, and evolvingover time. Major changes have transformed the rural household and agricultural to urban and industrial. The functions previously carried out by each of its members have been affected bythese changes.
The traditional family acted as a productive unit. It was formed by the parent (joined by a religious bond and / or legal) and their sons and daughters. The fatherworked as head of household while the mother was in charge of domestic chores, as they rarely worked outside the home. Your children of the family depended for their survival,protection and education. Divorce was not an option, for only death could end the marriage.
Industrial society was reducing the role of the family, taking away their productive capacity. Inthe modern family the woman begins to undertake paid work outside the home and, simultaneously, decreases the number of sons and daughters. Currently, the family structure is moredemocratic and diverse. There are families with single parents, couples without religious and legal bond, and so on. The modern family is characterized by relational independence,residential and economic.



Comparing the two families see it as progress and development has influenced the flow of families. Our way of seeing the upbringing, education, familyvalues and principles have changed due to hasty development of the world around us and in turn our needs have been increasing, leading to detachment and the losing of family value. Thisdoes not mean that we are doing things wrong, but we are doing the best we can, always keeping in mind the economic and physical needs and perhaps leaving aside some spiritual needs.
