State of tourism in Argentina.
The aim of this report is to present an analysis of international tourist demand in Argentina.
The last decades, tourism in general and in particular internationaltourism has gained importance as a factor of employment. This activity did not have the attention of governments, but today it can not be ignored, thanks to the different ways to development and growtha country.
The traditional destinations have always been North America and Europe, although in the past years other areas have emerged as alternative destinations. Some of these new destinations are:the Middle East, South of Asia and the South of America. In 2001 the world moved 690 million of international tourist. Also, the tourist flow for the MERCOSUR and Chile (Where Argentina is located)was approximately 11.5 tourist for the same year, representing about 2% of in bound tourism. However international tourism has been conditioned by the combination of a weak global economy and a highlevel of insecurity of fights according to terrorism and the threat of conflict in eastern medium.
Argentina offers a variety of tourist activities, which visitors can enjoy the landscapes. Somedestinations more demand are:
Buenos Aires. business tourism, urban and historical tourism
Misiones, Iguazu falls, cultural and ecotourism.
Bariloche, adventure and ecotourism.
The Valdes Peninsula,adventure tourism, ecotourism, beach and sun.

The return to democracy in 1983 helped to affirm thepositive development of international tourism (with an increase of 133% in the number of international arrivals in the period 1982-2002).

On the other hand, according to data by NationalInstitute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC) explained that the economic crisis promoted the Argentina tourist market, thanks to programs and promotion of tourist destinations.
