Introduction
With the growing prevalence of virtualization technologies, many customers ask how they should license Windows Server products with these technologies. Before delving intolicensing details and examples, however, it is useful to review some basic licensing concepts to understand how they apply in virtualized scenarios.

Without Hyper-V versions of Windows Server 2008
This brief describes the use rights for Windows Server 2008 products that include Hyper-V. The use rights for Windows Server 2008 products without Hyper-V are the same as their counterpart productswith Hyper-V (Standard, Enterprise, and Datacenter).
