Writing on stone is a place that is located in the southeast of Canada, very
close to Lethbridge , like an hour and a half, this is a provincial park thatis
considered as a protected area in the Alberta park system, this is a very
peacefully place where you could find a lot of nature preservation an
protection , because this place has a lotof aborigine rock carvings and a lot of
paintings too.
In this place you can see a lot of examples about the Canadian culture, I think
first we have to mention about the variety ofenvironments that we found here,
and with a weather that is very nice, this is a semi-arid climate, most of the
time they have the sun shinning. Because of all that amazing stuff, this place
isthe home to a number of rare and significant species.
In this territory used to live Blackfoot tribes, who probably create much of the
rock carvings and paintings. This nation consists of theKainaa (Blood) and
Siksika (Blackfoot) Nations in Alberta, and the Piikani (Peigan) Nations of
Alberta and Montana. Collectively known as the Blackfoot, these people
inhabited much of thenorthern plains.
This tribe has always treated this sacred place with reverence, for they
believe the writings found here are the works of the spirit world. The said that t
the writings werea way of communicating with spirits encountered in dreams,
since Blackfoot declared all this stuff and people started believing in dreams
and spirits, Writing on the stone was considered asacred place. They also
believe that the rock art has always been changing .
Rock art also server a biographical function, recording the accomplishment of
successful warriors and hunters. Bydepicting raids, battles and other events,
these images honor the artist’s physical and spiritual powers. While much
