The hurricane is the severest of weather phenomena known as tropical cyclones. These are low pressure systems and electrical activity rainy whosewinds rotate counter-clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere.

The word "hurricane" comes from the Mayan language "Hurakan" the name of a creator God who, according to the Mayans, spread his breath through the chaoticwaters of the beginning, creating, for this reason, the earth.
Hurricane Season in the Atlantic Basin begins June 1 and ends Nov. 30.
The hurricane produces two types of effects from the technicalpoint of view: the direct effect is when a specific region is affected by winds, rain and storm surge generated by the hurricane, the indirect effect, includes only one or two of the above effects.Saffir-Simpson Scale

1  119-153
2  154-177
