EL QUETZAL…
El quetzal es un ave en peligro de extinción y habita en el sur de México o en las zonas tropicales de Centroamérica. Tiene un plumaje muy llamativo, con el cuerpo verde y el pechorojo, mide cerca de 40 centímetros de largo, se alimenta de frutos, insectos y ranas, al amanecer y anochecer, su canto se escucha en lo alto de los árboles. Cantan para llamar a otro quetzal y asíconseguir pareja para anidar.
Construye sus nidos dentro de los agujeros de los árboles que él mismo roe, y suele tener dos crías por nidada.

Estos animales están en peligro de extinción por que se les ha cazado demasiado, se ha destruido el lugar donde viven o se ha ensuciado su ambiente.
Ya ves, no son pocos los animales queestán en peligro. Y hay muchos más, entre ellos está un ave que ahora ya conoces, tiene las plumas más brillantes, su nombre es bonito y sonoro, y se llama quetzal.
Por eso tenemos que colaborar conno cazar a más animales.
