What is a hurricane?
The hurricane is the severest of weather phenomena known as tropical cyclones. These are low pressure systems and electrical activity rainy whose winds rotate antihorariamente(= against clockwise) in the northern hemisphere. A tropical cyclone with winds less than or equal to 62 km / h is called a tropical depression. When winds reach speeds of 63 to 117 km / h is called atropical storm, exceeding the 118 km / h, the tropical storm becomes a hurricane.

TROPICAL DEPRESSION: Tropical cyclone in which the maximum mean wind at the sea surface (average speed in a minute)is 62 km / h or less.
TROPICAL STORM: well-organized tropical cyclone warm core in which the maximum mean wind at the sea surface (average speed in a minute) is 63 to 117 km / h.
Hurricane: Awarm-core tropical cyclone in which the average maximum wind at sea level (average speed in a minute) is 118 km / h or higher.

One of the main differencesbetween the three types of tropical cyclones is your organization. Tropical depression brings clouds and rain but the spiral bands are not well defined. The tropical storm is a weather system with a betterstructure with spiral bands converging towards the center of the system. Hurricane on the other hand is a fully organized throughout the troposphere with spiral rain bands well defined.

The word"hurricane" comes from the Mayan word "Hurakan" the name of a creator God, who, according to the Maya, spread his breath through the chaotic waters of the beginning, creating, for that reason, theearth.
