Project: “Title”
Introduction:
The project is an entry into the Sculpture By the Sea 2012 exhibition, it is a primarily fibreglass, interactive sculpture designed by artist Ceasius Kakius itsconcept centres around alternative energies & their proliferation.

Brief:
As a sculptural work its’ aim would be to present & promote the use of alternate energies to the emerging generation ofchildren. The interactivity & childlike aesthetic of the work would promote the involvement & enjoyment from a wide audience but the key demographic would be a child from 3-8 years old.

It is the worksintention to present both an attractive sculptural work & a positive illustration of the concept of alternative energies. It is through the use of solar film to power the works lights that wouldproperly present the sustainability of the work & its conceptual intention.

However it is the second source of power that would most strongly embody the concept of alternative energies as the cockpit[1]of the work would house a crank attached to pedals that would in turn spin & power the propeller & shaft of the sculpture, it is this that would truly enforce the power of self-involvement not only inthe sculpture itself but in the self motivation of the audience as they personally create & contribute energy to the work.

1.Cockpit: It is the centre of the piece that maintains the most importance to the concept, in the cockpit is housed the control panel containing switches & pedals that operate & power the work. Thecockpit serves as the central interaction point between the artist & the audience, constructing a connection & dialogue between the two.


2. Propeller: The propeller serves a dual purpose in thesculpture as its blades both can be manipulated & powered by the pedals & cranks from the cockpit & also enable a heightened position for the solar film that will similarly supply power to the lights...
