Chemistry And Other Sciences
Chemistry is the science that studies the matter and its transformations, so, its relationships with other sciences is enormous.
Chemistryand Mathematics: Mathematics constitutes a vital tool in quantifying chemical phenomena.
Physics: Both disciplines study the changes, properties and behavior of the matter.
Biology: It studiesthe phenomena occurring in living organisms at the molecular level. Since the composition of living matter to complex metabolic processes that occur in all living things.
Astronomy: Is simply theextension of the methods of chemical analysis and celestial phenomena (spectral analysis of elements in stars and distant galaxies).
Geology: Combined with chemistry it gives rise to thegeochemistry, which studies the composition of the layers that make up planet Earth.
Medicine: It helps to the creation of new medicines and new drugs used to prevent various sicknesses.
Social sciences: Itkeeps up the combat of the increasing food scarcity in the world.
Industrial area: It gives rise to chemical engineering who studies how to get the vest products from controlled chemicalreactions.
Positive and negative aspects of Chemistry
For the first two-thirds of the 20th century, chemistry was seen by many as the science of the future. The potential of chemical products forenriching society appeared to be unlimited.
Increasingly, however, and especially in the public mind, the negative aspects of chemistry have come to the fore.
Disposal of chemical by-products atwaste-disposal sites of limited capacity has resulted in environmental and health problems of enormous concern. The legitimate use of drugs for the medically supervised treatment of diseases has beentainted by the growing misuse of mood-altering drugs.
Environmental issues such as climate change, water pollution and renewable energy make the news headlines and have become increasingly...
