1: COLOR SEPARATION
1. Set the image color mode (RGB) size and resolution (300 dpi is ok)
2. Saturation must be applied to eliminate dull colors as much as possible and make the colorsbrighter. (CMND+U)
3. Using color range we can isolate any specific color starting with the pure and clean color is recommended, later same steps with the colors that can be obtained from mix of 2 ormore colors. MENU►SELECT►COLOR RANGE:
a. Select an specific area from the picker and try with the FUZZINESS slider ir order to choose the pixels you think can represent the color youare isolating.
b. Check the INVERT case to get a positive view.
c. If you are satisfied with the selection push OK button.
4. When the COLOR RANGE window disappearyour pixels selection are active, is time to add another channel to the RGB model called Alpha Channel.
d. Click on the bottom pallet button “create a new channel”
e.Double click on the just created alpha channel.
f. Channel Options►NAME (Type the color name)
g. Check the SPOT INK case
h. Click the color picker andselect the like color to the one you have selected.
i. Type opacity @100% and click OK
5. Ivert the color pixels selection by pressing CMND+I, you’ll see your selection in black,deselect CMND+d
6. Double click on the Alpha channel name and type the color name you have selected. You already have created the first spot ink plate.
7. Select the just created alpha channel andconvert it to grayscale: Image►mode►grayscale>a pop up windows will appear asking you if you want combine the layers please check yes and OK.
8. Again Image►mode►BITMAP> Type 120 dpi>choose diffusion dither>OK
9. Save this file as the original name and type the color name between parenthesis, select TIFF extension, OK.
