Importanc of colors in Interior Design

Colors are part of our lives. Starting from nature; animals andplants have different colors that allow us to know if we need to be careful or if they are friendly species. Animals have different colors in order to prevent or camuflate from other species. Colors havephysical, sycological and even physiological effects in people that can determine their mood and their emotions. In architecture and interior design colors are used to make warning signals, toproduce different feelings and sensations to people and for therapeutic reasons.
When we think about designing for people we think in the best way of making them feel secure and comfortable. For thisreason the first thing to do is to think in the signposted of the place that would be constructed in order to keep people safe. The function of colors in signpost is to attract people´s attention aboutplaces objects or situations that can put them in risk and also to show directions or emergency exits. There are certain colors as red that means danger or is used for fire signals, yellow is forcaution and green indicates diferent signaling.
Colors cause different effects in the feeling and sensations in people. In Interior Design colors are called warm or cold refering to the temperature thatthey have wich cause different impact to people. Warm colors produce a sensation of activity and joy. Warm colors are yellow, red, orange and purple. By the other hand cold colors give a sense ofpeace, seriousness and detachment. Cold colors are blue, green, violet, light blue. Is important to know these effects because they are really important in order to make people feel comfortable in theplace they are.
