"Compare the decline of civilizations in China and India with the decline of the Western Roman Empire".

The decline of civilizations in China and India has beenparalleled with the later collapse of Rome, but the decline of Rome was more disruptive than the collapse of the classical dynasties in Asia.
China and India suffered from outside invasions growingincursions by groups from central Asia in the same way as Rome, fell directly to Germanic invaders who fought on partly because they were harassed by the fierce Asiatic Huns. The Huns invaded the cityof Rome amid great destruction. Also there was another group of Huns who overthrew the Guptas in India, and similar nomadic tribes had earlier toppled the Han dynasty in China.
Besides we can see theChinese's inability to push back invasions from borderland nomads, who finally overthrew the Han dynasty outright.As in Rome, growing political ineffectiveness formed part of the decline.
Anotherimportant factor was the spreads of devastating new epidemics, which may have killed up half of t e population. In Rome,as in China the plagues' was growing international trade, which brough diseasesendemic in southern Asia to new areas such as the Mediterranean where no resistance had been established.
Here could be the key to the process of the decline; a set of general problems, triggered by acycle of plagues that could not be prevented, resulting in a rather mechanistic spiral that steadily worsened.
Also a big problem in all of these civilizations were the several changes in the taxsystem that increased the crisis.
In the end, the collapse of Rome echoed mightily through the later history of Europe and the Middle East. Rome's fall split the unity of the Mediterranean lands that hadbeen so arduously won through Hellenistic culture and then by the Roman Empire itself.that was one sight that the end of the Roman Empire was a more serious affair than the displacement of the last...
