RESUMEN
El presente seminario tiene como fin proponer una ordenación y clasificación de ciertos
conceptos referentes al control de fuego; para esto se decidió ir de la definiciones mas
generales hasta los procesos y materiales más específicos. Todas las definiciones
descritas en este estudio fueron sacadas de las fuentes bibliográficas y de información
entregadaoralmente por el Doctor Guillermo Julio, docente de la Universidad de Chile,
especializado en el área de control de fuegos.
Se comienza este estudio de forma general, entregando una definición de lo que son los
incendios forestales, el manejo de éste y los efectos que pueda tener. Posteriormente se
definen de manera mas especificas las causas, la detección y los factores que influencian
elcomportamiento del fuego. Una vez que ya se tiene una idea mas acabada del
comportamiento del fuego y las repercusiones que tiene éste, el estudio se vuelve en
torno a los organismos que combaten los incendios forestales y de qué manera los
combaten, profundizando en la herramientas utilizadas y en los conceptos básicos de la
extinción del fuego.

SUMMARY
This seminar aims to propose anarrangement and classification of certain items relating
to the control of fire; for this, it was decided to go from the more general definitions to
the specific processes and materials. All definitions described in this study were taken
from literature sources and information provided orally by Doctor Guillermo Julio,
professor at Universidad de Chile, specialized in the area of control fires.
Webegin this study in general, providing a definition of what are forest fires, handling
and the effects it may has. Later the causes are defined more specifically, detection and
factors influencing fire behavior. Once you have a better idea of fire behavior and the
impact it has, the study turns around firefighting agencies and how to fight them,
delving into the tools used and in the basicsconcepts of fire suppression.
