Maribel: As I was telling you Catalina, 2 years ago, my first day In U.S.A, without my parents and friends was so awful. I was so sad. I remember that I cried all day long.
Catalina: Didyou?...Really?…and what happened next?
Maribel: I had better days after all. I went to a nice school, I had lots of good friends, and also I had a handsome boyfriend called Frank.
Catalina: Wow…anddo you still guys have some contact?
Maribel: Yes, we do. We chat at least once a week. We are good friends now.
Catalina: It’s an amazing story. Anyway, are you hungry?
Maribel: What?
Catalina:All this conversation makes me hungry…so…I invite you for lunch.
Maribel: Ok, let’s go. I’m hungry too.
(In a restaurant)
Catalina: I like this restaurant; they have very good food and good pricestoo.
Maribel: This is my first time here. It looks good.
Catalina: Yeah, and the food is so tasty. You’ll see.
What would you like to order?
Maribel: I don’t know.
Catalina: Let’s ask forthe menu.
Catalina: Waiter, we would like to check the menu please.
Maribel: Is this a vegetarian restaurant?
Catalina, No, it isn’t. Don’t worry. Hahahaha
Maribel: You know me. I like meat a lot.Waiter or waitress: Hello, here you are.
Catalina: Thanks…I’d like to eat my favorite food today.
Maribel: And what’s your favorite food?
Catalina: I love baked chicken with French fries andscramble eggs.
Maribel: Would you like to eat some salad too?
Catalina: Yes, of course. I’d like to eat some lettuce and spinach with vinegar
dressing.
What about you, whatwould you like to eat?
Maribel: I’d like to order some ribs with mashed potatoes and a big tomato salad. I also want an orange juice and you?...what do you want for a drink?
Catalina: I want just aglass of water…Too much calories for a meal.(hahahaha)
Well, today is a very special day for me Maribel.

Catalina: Because it’s my birthday.
