Introduction
DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid, is the hereditary material in all living organism. Every cell in an organism body has the same DNA. Most DNA is located in the cell nucleus, but a smallamount of DNA can also be found in the mitochondria.
An important property of DNA is that it can:

Replicate to make new cells.

Transcript, to copy just a part of itself.

Translate, to givespecific information to any organelle in the cell.

DNA can make a little helper with the information is needed so it can reach the cell organelles; this little helper is called messenger RNA. DNAneed RNA because it is to long that it cannot get out the nucleus
Where is DNA found?
DNA is found in the nucleus from each and every cell.
In the nucleus there are parts of DNA that are garbage,an organism's complete set of nuclear DNA is called genome.
DNA is located on the nucleus, but it can also be founded in the mitochondria and chloroplast.

What does DNA do?
DNA contains theinstructions needed for an organism to develop, survive and reproduce. To do these functions, DNA information must be converted into messages that can be used to produce proteins.

Who discovered DNA?The importance of DNA became clear in 1953 thanks to the work of James Watson, Francis Crick. By studying X-ray diffraction patterns and building models, the scientists figured out the double helixstructure of DNA - a structure that enables it to carry biological information from one generation to the next.

What is the DNA double helix?
Scientist use the term "double helix" to describeDNA's form. This shape - looks like a twisted ladder - gives DNA the power to pass along biological instructions with great precision.
