In nineteenth century a workhouse wasbuilt where poor people could eat and live, but also they had to work very hard and the food was bad.
The author wrote this novel because it has a connection with his life. When he was a child he workedbecause his family was in prison. In this novel he tells the story of poor children without family who had to work for a living.
I think that the presence of parents in childhood influences is vitalfor there bringing up, because you have to be a person with an open mind to make things right as Charles Dickens, the author, and search work, however there are many children who enter in the life ofcrime to survive. But sometimes children do not want to steal and are forced by other people to do it, as it happens in Oliver Twist.
In conclusion I think there is not much difference between thepast and the present. Now a day many poor children are forced by their parents to beg for money, food or clothes in the streets, while their mother or father do nothing or are hidden in some otherplace. It is true that poverty is connected to crime, but not reason all poor people are criminals.
In my opinion the crime rate is rocketing, because many people are committing crimes. There aredifferent types of these, for example robbery, mugger, shoplifting or burglary. There are minor crimes and sometimes the criminals have to do a community service when they have to do something for your...
