Atul Gawande, a general surgeon at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, author of New York Times bestsellerand National Book Awards, writer and professor in Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health. He came with this amazing book where one the most interesting and controversial topics“Doctor should participate or not in an executions”. In this chapter, the author tries to persuade us that doctors should not participate in executions. They most follow the doctor’s code, that says;” thatdoctors should not participate in any execution”. They should act ethically and properly, all this supports the concept that doctors are “healers not, executioners”. Article 2.06 states, aphysician, as a member of a profession dedicated to preserving life when there is hope of doing so should not be a participant in a legally authorized execution.” I am agree with the author in the point thatdoctors should not participate in execution, because the doctor spontaneous nature is to save lives, and make sure that they do all that is possible to save lives and not to take it away. I can’t saythat I agree with the death penalty, but I am aware that some kind of humans beings, like some people in jail or out there doesn’t have the heart for take a innocents life away neither. I only knowthat someone out of this world really have the power to take or give life. Even if somebody did not have compassion to take or hurt somebody’s life does not mean, that” the others” us can still becomelike them. I think this chapter is dedicated to anybody but may go specific to who got prepare for “heal and not kill”. Maybe our legal system should be reorganized again by looking at what is workingand what is not working in favor of innocents and people who are guilty.
