MONROE DOCTRINE
America was worried about their own interests and problems, that’s why they proclaimed independent from Europe, that’s how the Monroe Doctrine was created. It dividedthe political issues between the old and the new World.
The Monroe Doctrine was elaborated in U.S.A in 1823 when James Monroe was president and John Quincy Adams as secretary of state,this doctrine said that United States wouldn’t stand any intromission in America, principally directed for the European colonies which back then where Europe was trying to establishcolonialism in America, and U.S.A as against it so that’s why the Monroe Doctrine was created
Europe wasn’t happy with the decision made by America, even though, they seemed to be calmed,and they wanted to keep the peace in Europe, but then Spanish colonies in South America, (which back in 1813 after Napoleon’s conquest Spain officially got separated from Europe) startedto reveal, even so Europe knew about this, they just kept watching because they wanted to stay firm to their laws and believes.
“America for the Americans” was a phrase that summed upthe objective of the doctrine, which can be interpreted as no one else but Americans can interfere with America, and felt that they owned the country. The prohibition of Europe to haveinteractions with America allowed America to expand through the American continent.
With this doctrine United States made other countries think about them as a selfish country, butthat’s how President Monroe and Quincy Adams thought about the progress of the country, and certainly they did progress, U.S.A expanded their territory and that was good for them.
