Organization that strives for a profit by providing goods and services desired by its customers.
2. What do business provide?
Goods & services as wellas jobs.
3. Formula for Profit.
Revenue – Costs = Profit.
4. Factors of internal & external environment.
5. Which are the demographic factors?
Age . Race . Ethnicity . Location.6. Efficient Vs. Effective.
Being effective is about doing the right things, while being efficient is about doing the things in the right manner.

1. What is ethics?
A set of moralstandards for judging whether something is right or wrong.
2. What is social responsibility?
The concern of businesses for the welfare of society as a whole.
3. Unethical activities:
Takingthings that don’t belong to you.
Saying things you know are not true.
Giving or allowing false impressions.
Buying influence or engaging in a conflict of interest.
Hiding or divulging information.4. What are the stakeholders?

1. Sole propiertorship
Bussiness established and owned by only one person.
No special taxes.
Unlimited liability.
2. Parternship
Bussinessestablished and owned by 2 or more people.
No special taxes
Unlimited liability.
3. Corporation
A legal entity with an existence and life separate from its owners, who are not personally liablefor the entity’s debts.
Limited liability.
Double taxation.
4. Shareholders/Stockholders
5. Types of Mergers:
Vertical - a company buys a firm in its same industry, involved in an earlieror later stage of the production or sales process
Horizontal - companies at the same stage in the same industry merge to reduce costs, expand products offerings, or reduce competition
Conglomerate- brings together companies in unrelated businesses to reduce risk.
Leveraged - a corporate takeover financed by large amounts of borrowed money.
