Egg Donor

Would you become an egg donor because of financial reasons?

During these difficult financial times, more and more women are turning to egg donation as a way to make some extra money. Theproblem is that many of them are not really informed about the negative effects that donating eggs could probably cause on their health. Also, there are certain kinds of women that do not care abouttheir health and would do anything in order to obtain money. In my own case, I would never become an egg donor, neither for money nor to help anyone who needs to conceive a baby. I am against thispractice because I strongly think that although those eggs you are donating are not yet fertilized, they could become a life and from my point of view selling a life is an immoral thing to do. Besides, Icould not donate my eggs knowing that probably in a future I could suffer of several diseases.
With egg donation as an infertility treatment, hundreds of couples have become parents withassistance. In fact, around 80% of the eggs donated result to be fertilized by a sperm and later on result to become a baby. This is the main reason why I would not donate my eggs in exchange for money.These eggs could turn to be a baby, a human being. Because of that I would probably feel like I am selling someone and does anybody have the right to sell a person. Also, if I donate my eggs I wouldbe afraid all my life of meeting someone that exactly looks like me or maybe of someone knocking at my door asking me if I am her real mother. In my opinion, there are a lot of other ways to getmoney that do not involve on selling your eggs or sperms.
I definitely love myself and there isn’t a reason in the world I would do something that could put my health in risk. Donating eggs couldhave very serious secondary effects on your health.
