1. The dinosaurs dominated the terrestrial ecosystems of the Mesozoic during approximately 160 million years, reaching a great diversity and, some,gigantic sizes. One of the principal characteristics of the dinosaurs is the property of having the legs placed in vertical position below the body, as the mammals, and not towards the sides, as mostof the reptiles. Una de las principales características de los dinosaurios es la propiedad de tener las patas situadas en posición vertical por debajodel cuerpo, como los mamíferos, y no hacia los costados, como la mayor parte de los reptiles. Los dinosaurios son un grupo extinto de reptiles, conocido tan sólo a través de restos fósiles.
