3INTRODUCTION
Christmas comes from the ancient Babylonian custom, and Rome in their constant quest of religious syncretism as the Christian festival moved. Why evangelicals have had this custom RomanCatholic, speaking the same language and ecumenical raising the same slogan?

HISTORY
First, we must understand and accept that Christmas does not have its origin in pure Christianity, but in thepaganism of Babylon about 2600 BC
The story goes that at that time there was a queen named Semiramis in whose belly grew her son Tammuz, which according to that religion, have conceived virginal.BABYLON, ROME AND CHRISTMAS
No doubt the paganism of Babylon beyond the borders, settling with great force in the polytheism of the Roman Empire. That's where the day was celebrated December 25 as the"winter festival" in commemoration of the birth of Tammuz, (Saturn to the Romans) the sun god incarnate.
This festival was accompanied by orgies, debauchery and a great inclination towards the value offriendship, which was demonstrated with exchange of gifts and presents for that date. Also arose the custom of decorating the doors of every house, with wreaths of flowers and green leaves and indeedthe practice of decorating a tree with decorative fruits and alluding to the sun god.
This was the date of the winter solstice and the center of everything, was to remember and celebrate the birth ofthe solar divinity whose conception had taken place in the womb of the virgin queen of heaven.

Is it pleasing to God this tree in our homes and meeting places?
