English Rock

Everybody knows about English Rock and even some bands like The Beatles, Queen, etcetera but the purpose of our work is not to just mention those bands and their careers, instead, searching about the historical context about it. First of all, we are going to start with the origins of Rock.
We can’t talk about Rock without talking about some others genres like Blues, Rockabilly and Swing, the onethat we can consider as the oldest background of Rock because many groups of this style were formed on the pre-war era, many years before the Rock’s appearance.
As we have mentioned, in the pre-war era were a lot of Swing groups but the music of some of these groups was not considered as artistically as others so many of them disappear without leaving a clue of its existence.
After that, wehave the Country and Western, and then the Rockabilly, with its well-known representative Elvis Presley.
Then, we have the Blues, which was connected to a movement of black workers who were searching a better life. This style was settle down mainly on Chicago.
Now, another thing that is important is the creation of the electric guitar because, without it, many bands wouldn’t be as good as they arenow or were then.
The electric guitar was created around 1930’s and it was very useful for the ones that play Blues. The people that are involved in the production of it were Adolph Rickenbacher, George Beauchamp, and Paul Barth.
Apart from what we have mentioned, the Rockabilly genre is also count as Rock, and as we have mentioned, one of the most representative person of that is Elvis Presley.The rockabilly beginnings were on 1950’s and it was a kind of Swing mixed with Blues, it was considered Rock.

But, in fact, many people consider that the beginnings of rock where until1960’s. This time was known as the “classic rock” period. One of the bands that arose in that age was The Beatles. In the half’s 1960’s, many sub-genres like blues rock, country rock, jazz-rock fusion and folkrock were born.
About folk rock, this term was heard for the first time on England and it consist on the classic rock and folk music mixed together. One representative on England was Bob Dylan.
Also, at that time was the Vietnam War and many of the rock groups that were born then wrote songs that expressed protest about that. Also The Beatles contribute to these (mainly John Lennon).
Anotherfact of Folk rock is that it was like the antecedent to psychedelic rock. This sub-genre was inspired on the sensations that the LCD make in your body. One of the representatives of the psychedelic rock is Jimmy Hendrix. The electronic psychedelia group resulted in a distinctive style, executed with impeccable technique, element began to be valued by the public of the genre. Loud and aggressive, theperformers used the maximum amplification and, supported by numerous instrumental sensationalism, worshiped the speed of electric guitars, percussion and voices wild able to overlap the spectacular display of instrumental ensemble. There were many other types of music, not only rock, but people began tohave a great preference to it which gave the appearance that rock has change from good alternative music to commercial music. In response to this general qualification, many rock bands began to teach people that, even when classic rock was heard by lots of people, they hadn’t change their way of thinking or the way they play.
