Composing basics reflection

I think it is really hard to compose including all nine notes plus Sharp or flat with rest note and eight note because when i started with my first stepthat was choosing a Word, i chose “Candy” because it is one of my favorite words so that means i used the notes “C A G D A” (that basically forms Candy). But the problem was that I did notliked how that 5 notes sounded together and I started to modify the notes to see which note sounded better and at the end I chose “E F C D” that their sound was similar to the candynotes.
When I already had completed the first part of the tune then I started to mix notes to see which ones sounded better so I started mixing and listening, after a while I was nearlydone.
When I knew we were going to compose a tune I thought it would be easier but when i started to write and then to check if it sounded good (which it did not at the first time but thenit did) I started to get worried because for me it was difficult to continue composing when everything sounded wrong and without a rhythm and then it was more easy to keep composing.
Atfirst any note matched with my tune until I tried and tried till i found some that really did matched in there.
When I tried to play my tune the first time (it was on a piano) and thefirst part of my tune sounded good but the rest did not matched into my tune and also I did not included much sharp or flat so I had to change it twice to see if I could add some more init but at the end it sounded good but I still did not add more flat or sharp because my tune did not sounded good with more in it. I also used a lot of rest note because it kind ofseparated the notes and sounded better.
I feel that my tune is incomplete because I did not included more than two sharps or at least one flat; I also think that the tune is very short.
