Environmental Contamination
Environmental Contamination
Environmental contamination has become one of the biggest problems and concerns that theworld faces today. Just imagine that the air you are breathing every day could be dangerous to your life over a long period of time. Human activity is considered as the major reason why theenvironment has been affected in a negative way. Also, recent changes in climate have been attributed to increased contamination. The main causes of environmental impact are: The production of carbon monoxideand carbon dioxide, the use of chemicals in agriculture, and irrational use of water in industrial activities.
The production of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide is generated bytransportation activities which use motor vehicles like motorcycles, cars, trucks, buses, trains and airplanes. During the process of burning gas into the car, they generate carbon monoxide. Thisharmful gas is a waste product which goes directly to the air.
The second cause of environmental contamination is the use of chemical products in agricultural activities. Fertilizers, pesticidesand herbicides are used in order to increase land productivity and to protect the harvest from pests. These products can be dispersed into the air by wind, and to creeks, rivers and seas through rain, affecting health.
The final cause and last contaminant is the irrational use of water in industrial activities, which is affecting the quality of water and destroying the natural resources dueto the high level of heavy metals used in the manufacturing process. As result, this source becomes non apt for human consumption. In some cases, it represents a danger for animals and human beings, because these heavy metals contain some toxic compounds.
In conclusion, contamination is affecting human health and is responsible for climate changes. Nowadays the environmental problems...
