* Summarise the key aspects of current legislative requirements and codes of practice relevant to your subject and the type of organisation within you would like to work.
* Discuss issues of equality and diversity and ways to promote inclusion with your learners. Review other points of referral available to meet the potential needs of learners.

It is inevitable to think about HumanRights when talking about codes of practice and legislation requirements. As human beings, we are entitled to this collection of principles submitted to mankind. The acceptance of these rights is the result of thousand s of years of struggles and sacrifice suffered by people since the establishment of a hierarchical society. Since they are proclaimed as inborn, universal, necessary, absolute andinviolable everyone should embrace them equally.
When it comes to find a job in order to develop your career and character, work places should include legislation requisites in their organisation that allow people to reach their objectives and create a fair and pleasant atmosphere.
In my case, I would like to teach Spanish to adults in a college. If I worked in an institution such as this, I wouldlike to be aware of all the rules and codes of practice the organisation employs. That would help me to execute my tasks effectively and to feel safe in the environment I am working within. Some of the legislation I believe is relevant to the lawful operation of such a teaching institution is discussed.
I find particularly interesting The Equality Act, 2006, which aims to “eliminatediscrimination, reduce inequality, protect human rights and build good relations ensuring that everyone has a chance to participate in society.” (Gravells, A. p.19: 2004).
As a Spanish native living in England, I sometimes feel excluded or penalised because of the language barrier. If every college in England effectively implemented the above legislation into their employment procedure, my chances ofobtaining a job here would begin on an equal level as those of an English native.
I also find the Race Relations Act, 1976, extremely important. This law “makes it illegal to discriminate on the grounds of colour, race or ethnicity.” (Gravells, A. p.19: 2004).
As a mixed race individual brought up in a catholic country, I understand intolerance personally. Equality is a basic conceptincluded in Human Rights that is, unfortunately, on occasion not employed or even ignored. Prejudices, bigotry, unfairness, preconceptions... are words that should not being involved in the ‘legislation dictionary’.
Some other essential legislation to keep in mind would be the Equal Pay Act, 1970, and the Employment Equality Act, 1998, which reinforce women’s rights at work. Furthermore, the SexDiscrimination Act, 1975, states that “it is illegal to treat women or men less favourably on the grounds of their sex or marital status.” (Gravells, A. p.19: 2004).
Even if it declared that women’s rights are incorporated in the Human Rights concept, our daily world can sometimes reveal a very different reality. Nowadays, women all over the world still receive marginal treatment and are relegated tosecond place in the workplace. It is unfortunate that, to avoid this situation, women still need to carry on fighting for their rights well into the 21st century.

Other issues I would also appreciate in the place I would like to work are those concerning health, safety and personal welfare in the workplace. Everyone has the right to work in a place where hazards are minimised and risks tohealth and safety are properly monitored. The workplace in question would also have to be accessible to all and to offer as much help as possible to everyone. Legislation for this is included in the Disability Discrimination Act, 2005, which states that “all learners must be given the necessary adaptations required to allow them to fully participate in their learning.” (Gravells, A. p.19: 2004)....
