BEFORE YOU READ: The pre-reading activities are aimed at:
• Allow children to explain and increase their knowledge and experiences on the subject of the text to be read.
• Knowthe vocabulary and concepts necessary for understanding the text.
• Stimulate making predictions about text content.
• Establish the purpose for reading.
READING: The reading modalities are formsof interaction with the text, not the only possible, but have several advantages over other: become more varied and interesting reading and foster different types of participation and differentreading strategies.
AFTER READING: The following activities are focused on reading comprehension, reconstruction or analysis of the meanings of the text: global understanding (item text) fragmentsspecific understanding; literal understanding (what the text says); making inferences; reconstruction based content writing and the language of the text, making it read reviews, expression of personalexperiences and emotions related to the content, and connection or application of ideas to life itself read (generalizations ).
TYPES OF READING
READING HEARING
By following in their reading books by theteacher or other competent readers, children discover the relationship between reading and content is expressed, and the characteristics of the writing system and written language that give rise tothe pitch during reading aloud.
GUIDED READING
Its purpose is to teach students to formulate questions about the text. First, the teacher prepares and asks questions to guide students in makingmeaning, these questions are of different types and leads kids to apply various reading strategies: prediction, anticipation, sampling, inference, monitoring, confirmation and autocorrect . Thestrategies are developed individually or as a result of interaction with the text group.
