Extradition of Drug Traffickers
It is late at night we humans go to bed to rest after a whole day fullwith work, school, good and bad news that shapes our lives even though we don’t see it. This new era has been called the era of the information because of how rapidly information is transmittedaround the planet, so we go to bed, turn the television on and start watching the news that has happened or are happening in that day. Incredibly most of the news is about drugs and this business that istaking place in Latin countries such as Mexico, Guatemala, and Colombia. The news reports killings, corruption inside the government, and other amazing things that seem to be taken from a Hollywoodmovie because it is hard to believe how crafty and intelligent drug traffickers are; always inventing new ways or what they call routes to transport their merchandise to this country. Drug traffickersmake so much money that are allowed to afford bloody wars against their enemies and the government. In addition, with these exorbitant fortunes they corrupt whoever they want, so they can keep“working.” Moreover, when they get arrested, they even control the prisons and they are treated like kings, but when they are extradited to The United States the good treatment and the luxuries are taken off, andthey really start really paying their crimes. Extradition is the official process whereby one nation or state surrenders a suspected or convicted criminal to another nation or state. “Nos meamos enlos pantalones cuando de extradición se trata.” (Lopez 98), (we pee on our pants when it´s about extradition). Although drug traffickers´ extradition stops the corruption and stops these criminalsfrom their lucrative and illegal business, it has huge effects in our national state.
