Eminent Renaissance man was interested in almost allsciences and arts (music, literature, painting). His achievements include improvements to the telescope, a variety of astronomical observations, the first law of motion and decisive support forCopernican’s. It has been regarded as the "father of modern astronomy," the "father of modern physics" 6 and the "father of science."
He is considered the inventor of the telescope, and became famous for hisastronomical discoveries, among which we can mention the satellites of Jupiter and its movement around the planet, and that the Moon was not a source of light itself, but gleaming because it reflectedsunlight, also observed numerous craters and other irregularities in the lunar surface. By observing the Sun discovered sunspots as moving dark spots, and this led him to believe that the sunrevolved on its axis. Observing the Milky Way found decomposed in countless stars. Directly Galileo supported Copernicus' theories about the movement of the Earth and other planets around the sun, whichcaused problems with the theologians and the Church, was finally forced by the Inquisition to deny their beliefs the heliocentric system.
