Gender Roles In Society
Gender roles in society have greatly changed over the years. In the twentieth century, women had begun standing up for their rights of equality. They had succeeded in getting therights to vote and started to gradually integrate into the male dominated work-force. Once World War II came women were brought into labor to make up for the shortage of men. After the war many womenstayed in their jobs to further their careers. Women no longer had to remain secluded in their homes. Now their options are broadening and new jobs are available to them.
Gender roles in modernsociety have now found equal grounds. Women have the same rights as men. The roles in household have also changed drastically. Men are not the fully dominant figure as they were before. Currently, thelevel of respective dominance is equally relevant. They both share the household work or the roles are completely reversed. The husband can stay at home taking care of the kids and housework whilethe wife can work and provide for the whole family.
