Midnight in Paris essay.

Midnight in Paris is a romantic comedy winner of an Oscar directed by woody Allen. It talks about a writer named Gil Pender that goes to Paris with his fiancée and by thenights travels to the 20´s meeting different important people from that time.
Gil Pender being a writer and having a hard time looking for something to base his story on, I think his knowledgeabout the great writers, painters etc of Paris in the 1920´s made him think that in a parallel universe he could really know them and make him change his mind about his book, his fiancée etc. Also hisway of thinking, that the 1920’s were better than the present days and the people from that time had more knowledge, thought in a different way people nowadays do. I think he was also suffocatedbecause of his fiancée Inez, she thought in a totally different way that he did, didn’t care much about the topics he did, and Gil being someone with so much passion for writing he felt insecure of whatpeople might think, so I guess that’s why he “meets” or really meets the characters that are shown in the movie
In this movie Gil Pender meets remarkable people like: Scott Fitzgerald and ZeldaFitzgerald, Cole porter, Hemingway, Picasso, Dali, Gertrude Stein etc. All of them people that caused an impact of the way of thinking, and the funny part of this story are that he changes the way ofthinking of some of this people or gives him ideas.
After meeting this remarkable people, he starts to think in a different way, and seeing the reality of things, that he was not truly happy with the lifehe was having.
He also meets Adrianne, the mistress of Picasso, which Gil the moment he sees her falls in love with. She is everything he wished for in a women, beautiful, great sense of humor,knowledge about writing, painting etc and of course of a different time he was.
