Most exotic pets endup in the hands of private individuals, where they suffer from inappropriate housing and care and poor nutrition. Some are captured from their native lands. Others bred in private kennels. Even moreare surplus from roadside menageries, zoos and circuses.
If we have some of these animals as pets we can have the risk of:
* Change the balance on its native lands.
* In some case theseanimals attack the owner or children.

In Mexico this species is distributed from the tropical forests of southeastern Mexico to the Rio Grande in the Gulf and in the Sierra Madre Occidental to the Pacific coast to theborder with Belize and Guatemala. Usually, the altitude of these areas is 1000 meters above sea level.
