How prosperous was USA in the 1920’s?
INTRODUCTION
The 1920’s, also called the “Roaring Twenties”, is regarded as one of the periods with more economic prosperity, mainly for the United States ofAmerica. Some people lived with lots of money and luxuries, while other lived in fool poverty.
CAR INDUSTRY
The greatest “boom” that happened within the 1920’s was in the car industry. Henry Fordstarted to use mass production instead of being hand built. Therefore, a Model –T Ford that cost $1200 in the 1909 went down to $295 in 1928. By the end of 1928 one out of three families owned atleast one car. Although the mass production did affected in the number of employees, it also contributed with it at the same time, since the great demand of resources meant that a huge amount of jobs werecreated.
The radio, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, telephones and much began to be common in nearly every American home, creating more wealth.
THE “FLAPPERS”
The flapper was a term applied toa new type of young Western woman that were emerged until 1926.They were famous for their lifestyle: smoking, drinking, and dancing. They used to have short hair, wore short skirts, and applied anexcess of makeup. They were a typical example of a spirit of a reckless rebel who danced the nights away.
This woman were wealthy, but most of the other woman continued to be housewives.BLACK PEOPLE
Although there were lots of prosperity in the USA, there was also poverty, for example black people. In the South they lived in extreme poorness, trying to get some money out of farming,while they also suffered of extreme racism, such as the fear of encountering the Ku Klux Klan. In the North black people didn’t face the KKK, but they could not find jobs easily.

TheKu Klux Klan (KKK) was a terrorist USA group which fought to protect the country; they wanted white supremacy, white nationalism, and anti- immigration.
