Day of the dead and offerings in Puebla Huaquechula.
Puebla, Puebla. - Huaquechula is located on the prehistoric settlement named as Cuahquechollan ethnohistoric and colonial codex there, currently on display at the Museum of Alfeñique. This settlement was a garrison during the Late Postclassic Aztec, now on the outskirts of the city there are still vestiges of fortification Hispanic. In themain square you can see some carved stones prehispanic that were found in the village. Another attraction of the place is the Franciscan convent of San Martín Huaquechula, currently in the custody of INAH, whose north wall is built a stone bas-relief with the representation of a moving warrior with shield, arrows, spear and plume.
 
The religious calendar of the community is varied and includes thecelebration of May 3, the day of the Holy Cross, Holy Week and Day of the Dead, the latter is the traditional celebration of major tourist attraction, as people make the famous shrines dead, they are very bright, and there is a syncretism of pre-Hispanic and Catholic elements that are expressed during this event very special.

The preparations for the celebration begin from the moment of the death of a family member, fromthat time should consider acquiring by purchase or loan the different objects to the altar, and decide who will be the composer of the offering and its team of helpers. The commemorations of the dead are carried out in the following schedule:
 
On October 28 and is expected to receive the souls of those who died violently or by accident. On 31 October is a swap in which objects are sold primarilyconsumed or used in offerings and altars dedicated to the dead. At noon on 31 and is expected to receive the souls of the deceased who left this life as children. On 1 November welcomes adults who died a natural death. Finally on November 2 village families morning visit the cemetery to clean and decorate with flowers, wax and incense, the tomb of the relatives. During the following week visitedby friends and family who did not go to houses with new offerings, to meet eight days or the eighth, after which period may be lifted the new offering.
