It is a country that is part of the united kingdom.
 
England has a variable climate. During the winter, it rains frequently and is cold. Spring is cool with somewind, the summer is very hot and the fall is usually warm and rainy.
 
Its political system is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary government.
 
The official currency in England is thesterling pound.
England's economy is one of the largest in the world.
The Bank of England, founded in 1694 by Scottish banker William Paterson, is the United Kingdom's central bank.
 
England washome to many significant inventors from the field of science and mathematics include Sir Isaac Newton, Michael Faraday, Robert Hooke, Robert Boyle, Joseph Priestley,  Charles Babbage, Charles Darwin,Stephen Hawking, between others.
With over 51 million inhabitants, England is by far the most populous country of the United Kingdom.
As its name suggests, the English language, today spoken byhundreds of millions of people around the world, originated as the language of England, where it remains the principal tongue today.
 
 
Today about 72% of English people identify as Christians, Thelargest form practised in the present day is Anglicanism. The monarchy of the UK is the head of the Church.
 
The St George's Cross has been the national flag of England since the 13th century, . Ared cross was a symbol for many Crusaders.
There are numerous other symbols and symbolic artefacts, including the Tudor rose, the nation's floral emblem, the White Dragon, and the Three Lions featuredon the Royal Arms of England.
 
English folklore developed over many centuries.
There are various national and regional folk activities, such as Morris dancing, inthe north east
 
The food ofEngland has historically been characterised by its simplicity of approach and a reliance on the high quality of natural produce.
