his childhood was hard, his father died when he was only three months, and at the age oftwo his mother married another man and sent him to live with his grandmother on a farm.
at age of 12 he joined the King's School where he lived with a pharmacist family friend and during those 4years he developed a knowledge through the books available for him by his profession.

1675 Reading in the Royal Society of hypotheses to explain the properties of light.

1704 Publication of the firstedition of the Opticks or Treaty of reflections, refractions, inflections and colors of light.
1713 Second edition of the Principia.
