Explanation:
My children have already studied the name of the different months years ago so for me it is more easy to introduce the following activities but anyway I will have to review them becauseis probably that although they studied them is probably that they didn’t acquire or they didn’t acquire at least some of them.
First part:
First off all is important that our children know how to write a date in English because of that we are going to teach the English structure.
Every single day one person will have to write the date of the day on the board and everybody will have to writeat the same time in their own notebook as a routine.
The structure is simple and the first days I will write the date but after they will do it on their own although I let him use the table of the ordinal numbers.
The structure is:
Today is 22nd November, 2010 – Day/Month/Year
(We will have to explain that with the first three days we have special terminations in order to express orderand dates, the ordinals numbers.) It simple if we have a table:
Ordinal numbers table
1º, first, 1st
2º, second, 2nd
3º, third, 3rd
4º, fourth, 4th.
5º, fifth, 5th
6º, sixth, 6th
7º, seventh, 7th
8º, eighth, 8th
9º, ninth, 9th
10º, tenth, 10th
Second part:
After this exercise I will give them a calendar with several brackets in order to complete them with the months.
Undereach month they have one place in order to draw something that they relate with this specific month; I guess that if they relate some things with the different months they will acquire them better
E.g.: In January they can draw a snowman, In July and August the can draw the beach and so on.
