A man named Maximiliano Hernandez Martinez was born on October 21st, 1882 in San Matias in Honduras. Maximiliano Hernandez Martinez became the Presidentof El Salvador in 1931 and then fell from power in 1944. In 1932 a revolt happened called the Salvadorian Peasant Revolt which was lead by Agustine Farabundo Marti. Maximiliano didn't do much to stopthis revolt. He knew that this peasant revolt was not going to win because he thought it was just made up of scraps. He saw thousands of indigenous Salvadorian people in this revolt and knew that ifany of them interacted between them and the government there would be serious conflict. It ended up that the peasant revolt attacked the government so Maximiliano had no choice but to fight back andcreate a massacre. He had led a well armed military group and killed almost 10,000 to 40,000 peasants with mainly guns. The opposing side only killed 100 of their men. Agustine Farabundo Marti fled themassacre for hid own protection but later found 10 days after the massacre. For his punishment of destruction and disturbance to El Salvador he was shot by the president, Maximiliano. He had namedthis massacre as La Matanza.

Students created a non-violent Strike of Fallen Arms. As this political action became massive El Salvador was paralyzed and he had deposed himself asPresident. He then fled to Guatemala where he can be remained hidden. Weeks later the revolt had spread and came down from El Salvador to Guatemala where a man named Jorge Ubico was ousted. He thenmoved to Honduras until he was brutally stabbed to death by his driver in May 15th, 1966 by the man named Cipriano Morales.
