Mal Ensayo De Art Deco
It’s an architecture style from the 1920’s to 1939 that pass along with the Great Depression in the United States. The Art-Deco shows the plurality of the contemporary world unlike themodernism it responds to the need for the pleasure and escape; like its predecessor Art Nouveau, was an eclectic style and drew on many sources. Was based on the tradition and celebrating in the sametime the mechanized and modern world, often a little nationalistic it quickly spread around the world, from New York to Shangai. It covers both handcraft and machine production. Designers try to infusetraditions with new life and to create a modern style based on a revitalized decorative language. To do that, they borrowed from European styles, as well as from the pictorial inventions ofcontemporary art, the rich colors and exotic themes of the Ballets Russes, and the urban imagery of the machine age. They also drew on more distant and ancient cultures. The arts of Africa and East Asiaprovided sources of forms and materials.
Characteristics:
* It’s based in the prevailing geometry of the cube, the sphere, the straight line and the essential zigzag.
* Try to represent theabstraction of the light, aquatic fluids and the undulating clouds.
* Faunistic representation making references of some qualities like the speed using gazelles, panthers, etc.
* Use of new materialslike the Bakelite, chrome and plastic, wood ebony and rosewood, natural leather of harks and turtles.
* Use the human figure of athletics, workers urban people using the look of the moment withwomen wearing a more daring clothes and “Garzon” hair style.
