WS1 ASSIGNMENT 1
Definitions
Organizational Behavior or Conduct
Organizational Behavior or conduct is the study of individuals behavior on his/her own organization or company where that person works. Organizational Behavior is an interdisciplinary field that involves sociology, psychology, communication and management.

Organizational Development
Organizational development is in charge ofimproving the company performance and the employees’ development and performance, meaning that strategic planning, organizational design, leadership development, and coaching are involve with the organization development of a company. What an organization development does is to improve all kind of activities in the organization what involves a strategy, structure and culture of the organization. Anorganization is a social unit of people, systematically structured and managed to meet a need or to pursue collective goals on a continuing basis. An organization has to have a management structure that determines relationship between functions and positions, and subdivides and delegates roles, responsibilities, and authority to carry out defined tasks.

Personality
Personality is a set ofunique characteristics possessed own by a person, those characteristics will have influence in his/her cognitions, emotions, motivations, and behaviors in different situations.

Learning Styles
Learning styles is a process or a technique a person uses to learn. There are seven learning styles: visual, aural, verbal, physical, logical, social, and solitary. Some people have adominant learning style while other people have a mix of learning styles.

Functions of Management
There are five fundamental functions of management and those are: planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling. Each of these functions blend into the other and each affects the performance of others. (Koontz and O’Donnel)

Motivation Theories
Motivation is what causes us to takeaction; there are different forces that lie beneath motivation such as biological, social, emotional, or cognitive in nature. There are different motivation theories; for example, the Instinct theory of motivation that talks about inborn pattern of behavior. The incentive theory of motivation, that suggests that people are motivated to go to work just for the monetary reward. The Drive theory ofmotivation, which explains that people are motivated to take certain actions in order to reduce the internal tension that is caused by unmet needs. The Arousal theory of motivation, that suggest that people take certain actions to either decrease or increase levels of arousal. And the humanistic theory of motivation, that is based on the idea that people also have strong cognitive reasons to performvarious actions.

3. Relationship between organizational behavior and organizational development.
Organization development is a process where we look an organization to improve; the process is carefully planned and implemented to benefit the organization, employees and stakeholders. The company is assessed to create an understanding of the current situation and to identifyopportunities for change that will meet the organization or company objectives. As we know customer demand continually improving quality, and a fast production or service; competitive prices; fast turn- around time on changes, so all these features are achieved by organizational practices. And effective organization must be able to meet today and tomorrow challenges. Therefore, adaptability andresponsiveness are essential for companies or organizations.
Seven are the characteristics of Organizational Development: humanistic values, system orientation, experiential learning, problem solving, contingency orientation, change agent, and levels of intention.
