Mexican Education is in dire and poor state. There is one area specifically that I believe requires a lot ofattention, that area is the reading and comprehension skills. It is extremely important that our country does not linger or have bad results in that area. Reading and comprehension skills are critical whenit comes to communications. Our students acquire a lot of information through books, whether they are books of literature or scientific works. If our youth aren’t sufficiently prepared then theireducation is being drastically limited.
While reviewing statistics from INEGI’s report in 2011, we can observe that at a national level, a 6.9% of the population doesn’t know how to read or write. Thereare three states in our nation with the highest illiterate percentages which are; Chiapas, Guerrero, and Oaxaca. These three states have approximately 16% of illiteracy. This is primarily due to thefact that in these three states we have the highest indigenous population. There are many different dialects spoken in this region. This causes some bi conflicts in communication and further increasesthe lag rate and illiteracy rate.
This is where the first part of my proposal begins, in order to help fight against the illiteracy rates we need to capacitate personnel that will be able to giveclasses in a multi-dialect way. What this means is that, if we can get some teachers that speak the indigenous dialects then there will be a greater amount of information being transmitted from teacherto student. They can also help to form the new indigenous youth that will be better prepared and better adapted to deal with the exterior world. A third effect that can have a pretty good impact onour country’s affairs is that when the people of these indigenous regions see that there are teachers who speak their language then they will be even more motivated to go to school and receive a...
