Reciclaje de agua
We have heard about many ways of saving water in the home, but how much do we know about recycling the water we use?
A person uses, onaverage, between 280 to 450 liters of water daily. Although this water is fresh, clean, drinking water, we use it in the shower, the sink, the toilet, and the washing machine. Onceit has been used, it becomes grey water and up to 3000 liters per person of this grey water can be saved and reused every month either in the garden or in the home.
Indry countries like Australia, recycling grey water is becoming popular. It is simple to collect: you can just use a bucket by hand, or you can direct the grey water to a bigcontainer. It is also possible to add chemicals to the grey water so that it can be used again for the toilet or the washing machine. Recycling grey water also has manyadvantages: you decrease the amount of drinking water you use; you produce less wastewater; your water bills are lower; and your garden has water when the weather is very dry.So, how do you get started? First, you need to have a grey water recycling system fitted in your house. Then, be prepared to become more environmentally friendly in your dailylife at home. Using products which are low in chemicals will make the water kinder for your garden. And if you don't have a garden, why not use grey water for cleaning floorsand flushing toilets, and save your drinking water for drinking!
