Between 1300 and 1600 life in Europe underwent great changes. It was a new phase of thought and give it culture, was a period of amazing inventions in the world of science. Developed print,astronomical discoveries were made, daring men set out to explore unknown seas and painting, sculpture, architecture and literature were also transformed dramatically. But it was also an era of violence,poverty, hunger and disease.
This movement was once again the man and his earthly life in the spotlight, instead of God as they did in the middle Ages. To scholars of this period were called humanistsbecause his main concern was that humanity would be better.
The characteristics of the Renaissance were:
Growth of cities.
Commercial boom due to technical advances in navigation andgeographical discoveries.
New vision of man and the world, which allowed the development of scientific thought and dissemination of culture.
It is generally characterized by universal knowledge anddedication to life in this world.
When did buying become a matter of luxury?
In the middle Ages there was a clear difference between the Knights and the Church on one side (clergy and nobility) and thepoor people on the other (farmers). During the Renaissance, a new social group: the merchants and burghers. They became very rich and powerful for that reason. The bourgeoisie was made by traders whohad workshops where craftsmen worked humble. This kind imposed new forms of life and lifestyle changes, which eventually end up with the feudal system.
During the Renaissance, European cities grew ina short time, due, among other things, the development of trade and industrial activities. This caused the rise of towns, cities engaged in commerce, as Genoa and Venice.
