THE OIL IN ECUADOR
Oil is considered the main source of domestic production , as the main source of income in the country , being a non-renewable resource , its dependence on use can bedetrimental to our economy in a long run when your sources reserved befor although this may be an extremist if perception were to potentiate and diversify domestic production of goods and services. Anotheraspect to highlight is environmental control that must be implemented , because the processing of oil adversely affects the ecosystem. This article is not based on the approaches of oil production , butrather an informative discussion of what constitutes its production in the country.
Historical Summary of oil production
In 1924 the first oil discovery was made in the peninsula of Santa Elenaby Anglo Ecuadorian Oilfields Ltd. company effected the first oil production in 1925 with 1,226 barrels per day. Other oil and gas explorations in the eastern region, this caused a large number ofconcessions with foreign companies , until in 1972 the Ecuadorian State Petroleum Corporation (ECE ) was established. Ecuador for this period produced thousands of barrels and income of the countrywere high (even if unequal distribution ) in 1973 , Ecuador joins the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries OPEC. In 1989 ECE becomes EP Petroecuador with several subsidiaries. Currently oilproduction is still controlled by the State, and although it has had its ups and downs remains the largest source of revenue and financing the country.

In Ecuador , the main areas ofoil exploration are the provinces of Sucumbios , Pastaza , Morona Santiago , Napo belonging to the Amazon region and the province of Guayas coastal region. Moreover refineries are located inEsmeraldas , Guayas, Manabi and Amazon .
