Motorola DynaTAC 8000X (1982)
A weighty phone
In 1973, Motorola introduced aprototype of the first portable cellular phone in the world. That telephone average about 30 inches long and weighed 800 grams. It was released until 1983 and had a cost of $ 3.995. Known as Motorola DynaTAC 8000X, had memory to store 30 phone and its battery provided only an hour of talk time. Its design was not aesthetic but allowed you to make and receive calls while desplazabas from side toside, but only if you were able to lift it!.

SENATOR Mobira NOKIA (1982)
Extremely heavy!
This device looks more like a boombox than a portable phone, but this square and bulky device was actually the first mobile (if you can call it that) of Nokia. Introduced in 1982, the Nokia Mobira Senator was designed for use in automobiles. After all, did not think anyonewas willing to take tremendous device while walking down the street, because he weighed about 10 kilograms!.

BellSouth / IBM Simon Personal Communicator (1993)
The first PDA phone
A cell phone with PDA functions is nothing spectacular today, but in 1993 it was go news. The Simon Personal Communicator, sold by IBM and BellSouth, was the first mobile phone to feature PDAfunctions. It was a telephone pager, calculator, address book, fax and e-mail device, all in one package. It weighed about 500 grams and the price was $ 900.

MOTOROLA STARTAC (1996)
Ahead of his time
Before launching the StarTAC in 1996, the design of cell phones was based on functionality almost completely forgetting fashion. But the Motorola StarTAC, showed that the stylewas as important as function. Folder type design, sleek and stylish, the belt could be easily fixed thanks to its weight and size. It was the smallest and lightest of its time, in fact even smaller and lighter than some current phones.

NOKIA 6160 (1998) AND NOKIA 8260 (2000)

In the late '90s, cell formatting "candybar" Nokia were a hit.
With monochromedisplay, an external antenna and a square body (hence the name "candybar") of 13.5 cm and 170 grams, the Nokia 6160 was the best selling handset of the company during the 90's. The Nokia 8260, something smoother, introduced in 2000, had covers in bright colors and had a less bulky body of about 10 cm and 113 grams.

KYOCERA QCP6035 (2000)
Precursor of Smart Phones
If you are oneof the many admirers of the Treo with Palm OS, you might want to thank Kyocera model. The Kyocera QCP6035, was a hit in the market in early 2001, was $ 400 to $ 500 and was the first phone based on Palm OS. It had a modest 8 Mb memory and a monochrome screen. Definitely, this model opened the door for many future models.

Handspring Treo 180 (2001)
PDA to Phone
In 2001 the companyHandspring, maker of the Treo, made waves with its model 180. More PDA than phone, the Treo 180 came in two versions: one with a QWERTY keyboard for writing (see photo), and another, which had the text entry system "Graffiti", the Treo 180g. Like the Kyocera QCP6035, had a monochrome display, but with the advantage of its 16 Mb of memory storage.
T-MOBILE SIDEKICK (2002)
Effective MobileBrowsing
In 2003, PC World magazine named Product of the Year to T-Mobile Sidekick. A phone that became very popular in Hollywood, partly because it was one of the first devices to offer truly functional mobile navigation, email and instant messaging. Furthermore, in its design, the T-Mobile had a rotating panel was a novelty.
