Purposes of the article
* Probably the first and most important purpose of the article is to inform other chemical engineering students about the benefits that can be obtained by participating inthe scale up program called Chem-E-Car competition organized by the AIChE group because according to what is stated on the article this kind of contest is the best way to put in practice everythingthat is learned in class and it’s also a good way to come in contact with a multidisciplinary environment which in the end, will teach many thing to the students.
* Another purpose of thisarticle is to show us how extent is the field of applications of the chemical engineering by presenting us some examples of some industries in which a chemical engineer could work without any problem.ScaleUp is a program which began operating in 2007 in collaboration with the magazine AIChE´s, which through a competition called Chem-E-Car , where students have to design and build chemically poweredmodel cars, establishes a relationship between industries and chemical engineering students.
On the one hand, the objective of the program is to prepare students from technical and professionalexperiences, working hand in hand with the industries and people with more experience in the matter, so that from this new generations of engineers are prepared in all aspects and have weapons to cope inworking life.
On the other hand, this program not only seeks students to apply the knowledge learned in the University. Nowadays, big companies and industries are looking for people with highlyeducated and intellectual preparation, this aspect is extremely important, but another aspect that has the same or greater importance is they are looking for people who are prepared to solve all kinds ofproblems that arise them at work or in daily life, applying skills in innovation, creativity, values, generally proactive people who see more than the view allows us to.
