~HAZART ALI~
There was once a very generous man named Hazart Ali. He had been brought up to love God and he practiced loving God and love flowed from his heart to everyone around. He was contentedwith life and considered himself to be well off, even though he lived in a small house and had a wife and two sons to support. No one who came to him for help ever went away empty handed. Every week heset aside part of his wages and bought food which he shared amongst the poor.
He was loved by many because of his kindness, although there were always others who did not like him and tried to findfault with him. One day his wife, Fatima, asked him to go shopping to buy food for the family and to buy a new jacket for himself as his coat was now very old. She gave him the equivalent of a hundreddollars, which was close to all the money they had.
On the way to the market, Hazart Ali met a man he used to work with who was in great distress because he owed $50 rent and was about to be madehomeless. He had lost his job and had been earning a little money as best he could doing odd jobs, but he had a wife and two young children to feed and had fallen behind on rent. Hazart Ali felt verysorry for the man so, without a second thought, he gave his former colleague $50 and went on his way. “My old coat will last another winter,” he smiled to himself.
At the market he bought food forthe family and started home. He had not gone far when he met an elderly lady who was looking very distressed. Someone had stolen her purse and she had nothing to live on for the week. Hazart carefullyselected some of the best food he had bought and gave it to her.
He had not gone much further when a young woman ran out of her house towards him. “Oh, Mr.Ali,” she called. “I am so glad to see youthis morning.” “My son has had an accident and we have to pay the doctor, so I have nothing left for the shopping.
