El lado derecho del cerebro y su
implicación en el dibujo

RESUMEN
El trabajo expuesto a continuación trata de poner a pruebamediante experimentación, el llamado

método de dibujar con el lado derecho del cerebro para lo cual hemos realizado ejercicios basados

en el libro “dibujar con el lado derecho del cerebro” de la Dra. BETTY EDWARDS, con niños de 5, 6,7,
años de edad dentro de una institución educativa.

Dentro de la enseñanza de artes en las escuelas, podemos notar la falta de procesos que lleven a un
verdaderoaprendizaje de dibujo, pintura, etc. debido a que vemos el arte en un papel muy secundario
dentro del educación primaria, incluso es tomado como momento de recreación, siendo para nosotros
el arte en niños pequeños una antesala al aprendizaje de la escritura y el entendimiento del mundo
que nos rodea, ya que este está basado en imágenes y formas. Teniendo en cuenta esto, el trabajo
realizado conlos ejercicios del método alternativo “dibujar con el lado derecho del cerebro”, el cual
tiene como objetivo principal enseñar a tener una visión real del mundo en el que vivimos y no a

tener una pre concepción de los objetos que nos rodean. Así por ejemplo cuando ponemos una
mesa al frente, y pedimos a un niño que nos dibuje lo que ve, él, al saber que es una mesa y cotejar

la palabra mesa con loque aprendió del concepto mesa, ni siquiera mira lo que tiene al frente sino

que directamente dibuja un cuadrado con cuatro patas, lo cual es la definición grafica que esta ya
dentro de su cabeza, la cual se interpreta directo al papel sin pasar por la observación del modelo.

Trataremos mediante el siguiente trabajo enseñar a dibujar de una manera diferente a la
tradicionalmente impuesta en lasescuelas, buscando que se desliguen las preconcepciones de
nuestro cerebro a las formas que vemos, haciendo así un mejor trabajo de dibujo con modelos

ABSTRACT

The work exposed below is about experimenting the called “draw with the right side of the brain”
method, for which we realized exercises based on the book “Draw with the right side ofthe brain”
by Doctor Betty Edwards, with school children aged 5, 6, and 7.

Within art teaching in schools, we can see the lack of process that lead to a true learning of
drawing, painting, etc In part, it is due to the fact that art is given a very minor role in primary
education, it is even considered as recreation. To us, art with small children is an anteroom for the

learning of writing andthe understanding of the world around us, because it is based on images
and geometric forms.

Thus the work realized with the exercises of the alternative method “draw with the right side of

the brain” which main goal is to teach how to get a real vision of the world in which we live, but
not to have preconceived ideas of the objects that surround us. For example, when we put a table
in front of achild and ask him to draw it, he will know that it is a table and collate the word “table”

to what he has learnt about the concept “table”, he will not even look at the object but start to
draw a square with four legs which is the plot he has in mind transferred directly to the paper,
without even observing the showpiece.

We will try, through this work, to teach how to draw in a different wayto what is traditionally

taught in schools, looking to break away the preconceptions of our brain to the forms we see, thus
making a better job of drawing with patterns and/or showpieces.
